AWARDS ACROSS AUSTRALIA

The judging period for the Regional Awards for Excellence has begun, and the interest is greater than ever.  

The Mornington Peninsula Regional Awards for Excellence are part of a National Awards for Excellence run by Restaurant & Catering Victoria and Restaurant and Catering Australia.  The Winners and top finalist from the Mornington Regional Awards go into the State competition and are judged against the best of the Victorian dining experiences.  The winners of that competition go on to t the National Awards and are up against  more than 2000 dining experiences from across Australia.

The Mornington Peninsula has done very well at the Victorian Awards - with finalists in Best Winery Restaurant (Ten Minutes by Tractor, Main Ridge), Best European Restaurant (La Petanque, Main Ridge) and Best Modern Australian Restaurant (Loquat, Sorrento).  In addition Mornington Peninsula Restaurants won the Victorian Best Asian Restaurant - Tulsi Indian Restaurant (Somerville) and the Victorian Best Informal Dining - Regional category was won by Bamboo (Rye).

Two Buoys Cafe(Dromana) cleaned up both the Victorian and National Awards when they won Best Cafe Restaurant - Regional in Australia.
