Wayne and Tash and his parents, Sue and Rod, are market gardeners located in Baxter. They are 5th generation market gardeners and the produce is grown organically Wayne completed his Horticultural Market Gardeners apprenticeship in 1990 and has owned and run farms all over the east coast of Australia from Baxter up as far as North Queensland. He moved back to the family farm in Baxter in 2006 and has pushed it into the direction of smaller and more varied crops, producing a wider range of produce for the Farmers Markets, as well as supplying his parents’ Home Delivery Fruit and Veg service around the Mornington Peninsula. Because the Peninsula has a milder climate and fertile sands than other parts of the state, we are able to maintain a wider range of vegetables throughout the whole year. All produce is picked fresh on the day of delivery or in the case of Farmers markets, the day prior to market for optimum freshness. Our produce is seasonal, however we do grow the following throughout the year: Asparagus, basil, beans, beetroot, bok choy, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, capsicum, cauliflower, celeriac, celery, coriander, corn, cucumber, daikon, dill, eggplant, endive, fennel, kale (cavalo nero), kohl rabi, leeks, lettuce, mint, onions, peas, parsley, parsnips, potatoes, pumpkin, radish, rhubarb, rosemary, silverbeet, spinach, squash, spring onion, stinging nettle, swedes, swiss chard, tomatoes, turnips, zucchini and zucchini flowers. We are also growing lots of new varieties of heirloom vegetables, such as chioggia beetroot, golden beetroot, romanesco cauliflower, tomatoes etc. We are always adding new items into our farm according to consumer demand so check our website for updates.
