VICTORIAN AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE

Restaurant & Catering Victoria President Matteo Pignatelli commented that “the Awards for Excellence represent an important moment as the industry pauses to honour these outstanding venues that were reviewed on the whole dining experience rather than a single dimension”.
The Awards for Excellence program, now in its 12th year was created to recognise excellence in food, service and to acknowledge best practice in the hospitality industry.
Thirty two Victorian restaurants and caterers were announced winners at the presentation ceremony last night (Monday 2 August) at Palladium, Crown Melbourne. Over 500 hospitality professionals attended the event which is Victoria’s biggest hospitality event.
Competition was drawn from across Victoria with some very talented dining experiences in the running. Among the winners were two fabulous Mornington Peninsula Gourmet experiences:
Two Buoys - Dromana

Ciao Bella - Balnarring
WINNER: Pizza Restaurant
Finalists included:
Salix Restaurant (Merricks North) - Restaurant in a Winery,
Rye Pier Restaurant & Bar (Rye) - Informal Dining Restaurant,
Loquat (Sorrento) - Modern Australian (Regional),
La Petanque Restaurant (Main Ridge) - European Restaurant, and
Tulsi Indian Restaurant—Indian Restaurant.
